NEW YORK – July 7, 2021 – Noom, a leading digital health platform focused on behavior change, and Simon Element, a new lifestyle imprint at Atria Books/Simon & Schuster, today announced a publishing agreement for two books. The agreement includes a foundational book, which will provide an introduction to the psychology principles behind Noom, to be published in 2023, and a cookbook, which will be published shortly thereafter.

Noom harnesses behavior change and technology to create long-term positive health outcomes for users around the world. Its powerful consumer-first digital health platform is built on more than a decade of research, innovation, and product development, and Noom users have found success leveraging the company’s unique combination of technology, human coaches, and behavioral science to take control of their health.

The publishing agreement marks Noom’s first expansion into an offline content channel and reflects the company’s unwavering commitment to its mission of helping people everywhere live healthier lives. As one of the first acquisitions by Simon Element, these books will serve as an introduction to modern behavior change for millions of readers.

“I truly believe that there is so much we can accomplish at Noom, and the number of lives we can positively impact is our driving force. We’ve learned so much from our Noomers on their journey to better health, and we’re so excited to share the lessons we’ve collected about the power of behavior change. These two books will be yet another tool to help people live healthier lives,” said Noom CEO, Saeju Jeong.

Noom Chief of Psychology, Andreas Michaelides, PhD added, “With all of the nuances that are inherent in the process of behavior change, it’s imperative that we can meet people where they are, and I’m hopeful that these books will greatly benefit both existing Noomers and new ones we may not otherwise reach.”

“We are so proud and excited to announce Noom as one of the first official acquisitions for the Simon Element list,” said Publisher Richard Rhorer. “Our mission at Simon Element is to publish books that inspire and empower readers to make meaningful changes and create a life they love. Noom’s premier brand and powerful focus on outcomes is a great fit for the audience we want to reach.”

World rights were acquired at auction by Executive Editor Leah Miller from Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
