Noom’s coach training program receives official approval from premier coach training organization

Last week, Noom Inc. qualified to become an Approved Transition Program per the The National Consortium for Credentialing Health & Wellness Coaches (NCCHWC). The consortium announced:

“The National Consortium for Credentialing Health & Wellness Coaches is delighted to announce that NOOM has qualified to become an Approved Transition Program per the NCCHWC’s standards. As a result, health and wellness coaches who have met NCCHWC’s requirements and completed the health and wellness coach training program provided by NOOM will qualify to sit for the national exam to be launched in the fall of 2017. The NCCHWC is in a time of deep collaboration with health and wellness coach training programs that are working diligently towards creating a national standard which will help further professionalize and advance the field of health and wellness coaching.”

NOOMiversity, Noom Inc.’s health and wellness coaching program, is an evidence-based program that combines instructional lessons and hands-on experience to allow students to understand and learn to apply essential coaching and behavior change techniques in real-world situations. Students develop a strong foundation of health and wellness knowledge and skills to be prepared to facilitate sustainable behavior change in persons living with pre-chronic and chronic conditions.

Ed Pienkosz, Director of Business and Coach Development at Noom Inc. is excited at the potential of being able to disseminate the company’s comprehensive and holistic health and wellness coaching program:

“Noom is committed to advancing the standards of health coaching as it directly relates to improving health outcomes for reversal of chronic conditions. Our evidence based program is the foundational training all our internal coaches receive. We are thrilled to provide the highest quality training to enterprise clients with their own coaching resources as well as outside professionals looking to facilitate sustained behavior change .  We are honored to be among the NCCHWC’s approved programs. Our joint goal of creating national standards will not only benefit coaches and their clients but also enhance the professional credibility of the field of health and wellness coaching.”
