Success Story: Hollie

Kayla Reynolds, MS

Hollie’s been successful losing weight at several points in her life, but she was never able to keep the weight off. She could never make the changes stick because they simply weren’t sustainable. After seeing an ad on Facebook for Noom, including a 14-day trial, she figured she had nothing to lose.

Hollie is so grateful she did, because Noom is different than anything she’s tried before.

#1 I have people keeping me accountable #2 I learned some of the reasons behind my eating habits (#psychology) and have really been able to change them #3 I am in charge of what I eat, if I really want a cookie I can have one! (But I have to plan for it.) It is sustainable, not a crash diet. #4 I’ve learned to like exercise! Small steps…10,000 of them… lead to big changes!

Hollie loved working with a dedicated Goal Specialist, a Group Coach, and a group of peers on a similar journey.

“Coach Raquel is so encouraging, supportive, and fun! She told me one day ‘From now on, you’re a runner! This is all in your head!’ It sounds silly to say, but that stuck with me. I never in a million years thought I could run, but now I am running… and reminding myself ‘it’s all in your head!’ when I want to stop.”

She even recruited some of her friends to join Noom for an added layer of motivation.

“The support and accountability make all the difference.”

Hollie also loved Noom’s fun, holistic, psychology-based approach to lasting weight loss and true health.

“The studies and science behind things appeals to my nurse brain, and I loved the fun way they are written. I also learned a lot from the articles about eating scripts… so true in my life!”

And just like that, Hollie’s lost nearly 40lbs. Despite the drastic weight loss, Hollie emphasizes the non-physical transformations she’s experienced.

My friends tell me I’m glowing! I have a much healthier relationship with food and a new love of fruits and veggies. I crave walking/running when I go a few days without it. I feel stronger. I am more energetic and more ‘present.’

Her favorite change by far has been learning to prioritize her needs while balancing life as a working mom.

I am realizing the importance of taking time for me. I have a very stressful job and am a busy mom and wife… like so many other women I take care of everyone else before myself. But it really is true that you can’t pour from an empty cup. Noom has helped me re-fill my cup. I’m a better ‘me’ when I do that.

When we asked Hollie if she had anything else to share, she thanked us for changing her life, and said:

“The whole set-up is awesome. I didn’t know how badly I needed this… until I did it.”

Congratulations on all of your success, Hollie! We look forward to continuing to follow your journey to lasting health and happiness.
